Back in 1929, when the renowned Ayurvedic physician Shri. Koshy Varghese  fondly addressed as Pappy Vaidyan laid the
foundation of BIPHA (originally SGA Pharmacy) he also sowed the seeds of a culture of constant  innovation and forward 
thinking. Having acquired  his knowledge  from a Gurukul or  the one master system of learning then prevalent in Kerala, 
Pappy Vaidyan began his practice with the blessings of this Guru and prayer on his lips. A gifted physician, he never charged 
any fee for his consultation instead he sustained on the income from the medicines he formulated all by himself. His forward  
thinking  spirit dared him to  employ  scientific  methods and  advances in technology to the age old system of Ayurveda.  
His  efforts  turned  successful and  these  traditional  forms of  medicines became more acceptable in the contemporary 
world taking his fame across borders.
